Karen Hartfield is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, who, after almost two decades as a Licensed Massage Therapist, graduated from the University of South Florida with her Master’s degree in Counseling in 2014.
Karen’s undergraduate degree is in Theater Arts, and her theater training was steeped heavily in Jungian Theory. She has also practiced yoga for much of her life, and brings her holistic approach of body, mind and spirit into her work as a counselor.
Karen was drawn to the profound and gentle work of the Sandplay process during her studies for her Master’s degree, and became a Sandplay Practitioner in 2017. This modality fits beautifully with her understanding that deep healing most often requires deep work and bringing that which is unknown up from unconscious realms; Sandplay provides new and remarkable pathways to that end.
Karen has been in private practice since 2014, and in 2018 relocated her office from central Florida to the Sarasota/Venice area. Karen works with people of all ages, including young children, adolescents, and teens. Jungian Sandplay Therapy is available to all.
