Trudy Corry Rankin, Ed.D., LMHC, CST-T

Trudy has been practicing psychotherapy in Lakeland, Florida since 1980, and has more than ten years of experience as a Sandplay therapist. She has been a certified member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy since 2004, and she is also a certified teaching member of the Sandplay Therapists of America.

Dr. Rankin’s professional interests combine her training as a registered nurse, therapist and pastoral counselor.  Through these professional modalities, Trudy provides a holistic therapeutic support for adults and children in her Practice.

She finds that Jungian Psychology provides framework for her growing interest in understanding how people are spiritually formed, incorporating Sandplay as a means of soul/psyche expression.  Providing Spiritual Direction for those wishing to share their spiritual journey with someone is another aspect of Trudy's vocation. She has found Sandplay to be a valuable tool in this work.

An educator and presenter, Dr. Rankin has conducted consultation groups in Florida and California and has presented case studies in the U.S. and Holland. Trudy is also the author of Soul Notes of a Composition, In the World Between Two Worlds of Grief from Suicide. Dr. Rankin's book is available here on Amazon.com.

Writing her own story as a therapist and a mother who has lost a child, Trudy provides an understanding of the disease of Bipolar Disorder.  Poetry, journaling and sandtrays hold the images of the journey to find meaning in a child's decision to choose suicide. This Composition holds the notes of those who are touched by experiences of healing, confirming the resurrection of subtle energy that never dies.
